The Baseball Playoffs
by

Hello everyone!

Are there any baseball fans out there? It's an exciting time of the year for fans of both Major League and Japan League baseball. The playoffs will begin soon in both leagues.

While the playoff picture is still not fully decided in Japanese baseball, the MLB playoff matchups are: LA Angels vs. Boston Red Sox, NY Yankees vs. Cleveland Indians, Colorado Rockies vs. Philadelphia Phillies, and Chicago Cubs vs. Arizona Diamondbacks.

I think the World Series will be between the Boston Red Sox and the Chicago Cubs with the Red Sox coming out on top.

It was another 200 hit season for my favourite player, Ichiro Suzuki. Unfortunately he didn't win the batting title but with another 200 hit season next year he will set the American League record for consecutive 200 hit seasons.

It was a challenging season for the $100 million dollar man, Daisuke Matsuzaka. He started quite strong but faded in the end. I think that Matsuzaka learned that MLB hitters are the world's best.

Hideki Matsui had another strong season for the New York Yankees. He topped 100 RBIs again but also slumped near the end of the season.

Tadahito Iguchi got lucky when he was traded to a playoff team, the Philadelphia Phillies. He filled in admirably for an injured Chase Utley.

Please let me know your favourites in the playoffs!
